This is the first time I’m gonna make the Xhorse Key Reader Review. Covering appearance quick look & 7 key types decoding test. It can be used on a smart phone directly, only to install a Xhorse App.
What Xhorse Key Reader Looks Like?
– Key Reader has a button on top to open and close key slot which is used for insert a key for decoding.
– On the back, as you can see it’s a power cord that obviously must be connected to power. Then press power button here.
– On the bottom, you have a little slot in case you drop the key into Key Reader. You can just take it out of this side.
Let’s try to decode some keys to see how it works.
I did decode these keys prior so I knew the bitting for them. Let’s see if it comes up the same.
One of the main feature of Xhorse Key Reader is that it can do plastic keys as well as aluminum keys which you can’t currently decode on your machine. It’ll break your probe. So let’s start with them.
Xhorse Key Reader Identify Keys Review
It’s worth mentioning that you should insert key blade deeply enough to make it read completely. Otherwise, some cuts won’t be read. This is my experience with the following 7 keys testing.
Read HU66 Correct
Insert HU66 key into Key Reader slot. Go to Xhorse app,
Cut by bitting >> HU66 >> OK >> Identification
It’s reading…
It comes up with bitting: 42312242
Key Reader got HU66 perfectly correct.
If it does get it wrong, you can always move the cuts around to get to the correct bitting. But this one I didi it perfectly.
Read Range Rover HU101 Correct
Insert the HU101 aluminum key into Key Reader slot. Go to
Cut by bitting >> HU101 >> OK >> Identification
It comes up with bitting:3545331132
So that’s it looks like. It’s again correct. The bitting on the key is same as displayed.
Read Hyundai KK12-P Correct
Insert the KK12 key into Key Reader slot. Press
Cut by bitting >> KK12-P >> OK >> Identification
It comes up with bitting:13334424
This one has accurately read as well.
Read BMW HU92R Correct
Insert the HU92R key into Key Reader slot. Go to
Cut by bitting >> HU92R >> OK >> Identification
It comes up with bitting: 22344243
Again, this one is decoded perfectly.
Read Chrysler CY24 Correct
Insert the Chrysler key into Key Reader slot. Enter into
Cut by bitting >> CY24 >> OK >> Identification
It comes up with bitting: 34313443
As you can see, it got down one perfect correctly as well.
Read Cadillac B106 Correct
Insert the Cadillac key into Key Reader slot. This key generally wear out, so it’s a bit difficult to read the bitting.
Cut by bitting >> B106 >> OK >> Identification
It comes up with bitting: 2431323531
Done! This one also has perfectly read out even if it’s worn out.
Read GMC HU100 Correct
Insert the GMC key into Key Reader slot. Press
Cut by bitting >> HU100 >> OK >> Identification
It comes up with bitting: 3422231134
This one is correct as well.
