Problem

The Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Plus Pad failed to read PCF7945 chip while VVDI MINI Key Tool & Key Tool Max can read. Only unworkable for PCF7945 chip. When using Key Tool Plus to read PCF7936, ID48 or 4D, all were OK.

Solution

Disassemble VVDI Key Tool Plus to glue, the problem will be solved. (The use of potting glue in this way requires relevant knowledge. Generally speaking, it is a better choice to send the equipment back to the dealer for repair)

(It is not recommended for novices to use this method to repair.And VVDI Key Tool Plus is not all PCF7945 chips can be read, only some compatible ID46 can be read. If there is any problem, it is recommended to contact the dealer directly.)

Tools preparation: a T10 screwdriver, a tweezer.

  1. Remove 8 dust plugs with the tweezer.

  1. Remove 8 screws on Key Tool Plus outer shell.

  1. Remove battery with tweezer.

  1. Remove camera & screen with screwdriver.

  1. Remove M3 screws and adapters on circuit board.

  1. Separate circuit board from outer shell.

Now you can locate the position marked in red.
