I finally got the new XDPGSOGL DB15 Cable to realize working with VVDI PROG & Xhorse Porsche Adapter. This is the first time to test reading the Porsche BCM 2M25J and give a review.
Since I have already opened the BCM and insert a solder-free adapter on it. Very convenient without any soldering. Only to refer to the connection diagram in VVDI PROG. Be careful with those points marked in red.
Test Backup Review
Start VVDI PROG software to select options at first:
Type: 4 IMMOBILIZER, Brand: Porsche, Chip: BCM-2M25J-BACKUP(ADAPTER)
Click “Read”, it reads correctly.
Then save the D-Flash file.
It’s always safe to make a backup.
Backup D-Flash OK.
Now let’s read P-Flash…
Reading success. It takes longer time to finish.
Save the P-Flash file.
Backup P-Flash OK.
Unlock & Lock BCM Review
Select chip to: BCM-2M25J-R/W/UL(ADAPTER)
Read ID OK. C482 is the Porsche processor that I have.
Read Partition, it says “Chip is crypt. This operation needs to decrypt.” That means it’s locked. I should do an unlock next.
Noted to backup before doing any unlock!
Click “Unlock”.
Chip is crypt 7D, unlock BCM OK.
Now it should be possible to read partition.
Partition D-FLASH 64 sectors(16K). EEE: 8 sectors(2K).
Read partition OK.
After finishing to backup D-FLASH/P-FLASH files again.
I can re-lock the BCM.
Click “Lock”, enter 7D, click “OK”.
Operation success.
Lock BCM OK.
There’s less risk to read Porsche BCM with Xhorse Solder-freeAdapters. You don’t have to solder wires or cut through something from the circuit board. Because that can cause problems afterwards. In this way, you don’t need to worry about it. It’s more elegant and clean.
